It costs $500, but former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre will make a personalized video for you.

Favre is one of nearly 4,000 athletes, musicians and social media stars on Cameo, a platform to connect fans to celebrities.

Cameo, a Chicago-based startup launched in March 2017, lets customers buy personalized video shoutouts through its app and website.

To book a Cameo, customers specify who the video is for and give instructions on what type of message to give. An example written on Cameo’s website says, “Hi! My friend Carissa just went through a breakup and needs some cheering up!” The average video is around 30 seconds.

The celebrities set the prices for their Cameos and then split revenues with the company.

Cameo takes 25 percent while the other 75 percent goes to the talent. Some users indicate their Cameo revenues will go toward charity. The average price for a Cameo is $40, according to the company.

Favre set his price at $500. A video from Sam Dekker, the former University of Wisconsin basketball standout, is $25. Former “Bachelor” and Waukesha native Nick Viall will make a video for $40.

Other current or former Packers players on the platform include Ty Montgomery, James Crawford, Kenny Clark, Ahmad Thomas, Jermichael Finley, Josh Jones and Muhammad Wilkerson.

Cameo said the most frequently booked talent on the site are stars from Bravo’s “Real Housewives” franchise and influencers.

Cameo doesn’t list rules for conduct in video requests but says “be appropriate and kind.” Requests that are “inappropriate, explicit or will damage the talent’s image” will be rejected.

Completed Cameos are sent to a phone number or email address provided at the time of purchase. Talent is given up to seven days to complete a request before it expires. Fees will be refunded if the request expires.
