PREP FOOTBALL WEEK 7 GAMES TO WATCH

-

Games at 7 p.m. Friday unless noted Brookfield East (4-2, 4-1 Greater Metro) at Brookfield Central (5-1, 4-1): Whichever one wins this crosstown rivalry will clinch a playoff spot. Central won both meetings last year, including a 31-0 shutout in Level 3 of the playoffs.

Franklin (6-0, 4-0 Southeast) at Kenosha Indian Trail (4-2, 4-0): Franklin is still the team to beat in the SEC, but Indian Trail was impressive in its 13-6 victory over Oak Creek last week. The performance marked the third time in league play Indian Trail held an opponent to six points or fewer.

Hartford (4-2, 4-2 North Shore) at Grafton (4-2, 4-2):

Is this the year that Grafton breaks the streak? The Black Hawks are one win away from clinching a playoff spot for the first time since 1997. They will have to go through Hartford, however, which features a balanced offensive attack.

Living Word Lutheran (5-1, 3-1 Midwest Classic) at Lake Country Lutheran (6-0, 3-0): Lake Country Lutheran, the No. 2 team in wissports.net Division 5 coaches poll, will face its first true test of the season. This contest was close to being a battle of unbeaten teams, but the Timberwolves lost by two points to St. Francis last week.

Milwaukee Lutheran (4-2, 4-1 Woodland East) at Shorewood/Messmer (5-1, 4-1):

The ever-unpredictable Woodland East has been just that this year, and that means that anything could happen in this game that may very well determine the conference champion. Expect a close game. Each of Shorewood’s wins have come by seven points or less.

Milwaukee Riverside (5-1, 4-2 City Richardson) vs. Milwaukee King (4-2, 4-0) at Custer Stadium, 7 p.m. Thursday:

This is the game followers of City football have been waiting for. Barring a major upset, the winner will claim the division title and end up with a spot in the league’s conference championship game in Week 9.

Waukesha West (5-1, 4-1 Classic 8) at Arrowhead (3-3, 3-2):

Two of the hottest teams in the Classic 8 Conference meet with playoff implications on the line. Waukesha West, winners of five straight, can guarantee a playoff berth with a win. Arrowhead, on a threegame winning streak, would move to 4-2 in the conference and become playoff eligible if it wins.
