Whitewater rolls to win over La Crosse

UW-Whitewater just seems to have UW-La Crosse’s number.

Cole Wilber passed for 244 yards and three touchdowns as the Warhawks rolled to a 30-7 victory over the host Eagles in the teams’ Wisconsin Intercolle­giate Athletic Conference opener Saturday.

Whitewater, which is ranked No. 8 in the American Football Coaches Associatio­n Division III Coaches’ Poll, has won 16 straight games in the series with 25th-ranked La Crosse.

Alex Peete added 100 rushing yards in 24 carries for the Warhawks (4-0). He scored on a three-run scamper in the fourth quarter.

Running back Ben Schramski scored the only touchdown for the Eagles (2-2) on a 6-yard run in the second quarter.

UW-Plattevill­e 20, UW-Stevens Point 6: Colin Schuetz passed for 225 yards and a touchdown as the Pioneers (3-1, 1-0 WIAC) defeated the host Pointers (3-1, 1-0).

Evan Gates carried the ball only seven times for 18 yards for Plattevill­e, but he scored on a pair of 3-yard runs.

Stevens Point’s lone score came when Steve Herra hauled in a 29-yard pass from Matt Urmanski with 1:23 left in the fourth quarter.

UW-Oshkosh 48, UW-River Falls 14: Kyle Radavich threw five touchdown passes — two apiece to Riley Kallas and Dom Todarello — as the Titans (3-1, 1-0 WIAC) rolled over the host Faclons (1-3, 0-1).

Monmouth (Ill.) 49, Lawrence 0: Hayden Nelson threw for seven touchdown passes to lift the Fighting Scots (3-1) over the Vikings (1-3) in Appleton.

Jacolby Maxwell caught eight passes for 117 yards, including five touchdowns from Nelson. DeAndre Wright added 169 rushing yards for Monmouth.

St. Norbert 34, Knox 0: Nate Ihlenfeldt caught four passes for 85 yards and a touchdown as the Green Knights (3-1) blanked the Prairie Fire (0-4) in Galesburg, Ill.

Ripon 53, Grinnell 0: Tyler VanDeVeld and Austin Bunders combined for 203 rushing yards and three touchdowns to the help the Red Hawks (3-1) dominate the host Pioneers (1-3).

Wisconsin Lutheran 26, Rockford 20 (OT): Patrick Mathieson found Chrystyan Woyak for a 13-yard touchdown in overtime to lift the Warriors (1-3, 1-0 NACC) over the Regents (1-3, 0-1) at Raabe Stadium.

Concordia (Wis.) 48, Benedectin­e (Ill.) 40: Josh Turner ran for 175 yards and Aaron Nixon threw for four touchdowns as the Eagles (3-1, 1-0 NACC) edged the Falcons (0-4, 0-1) in a shootout in Lisle, Ill.

Lakeland 61, Concordia (Ill.) 28: Lance Moise rolled to 206 yards on the ground and scored four touchdowns to help the Muskies (1-3 , 1-0 NACC) rout the Cougars (1-3, 0-1) in Plymouth.

Carthage 63, Elmhurst 7: Lafayette McGary rushed for 163 yards and four touchdowns as the Red Men (2-2, 2-1 CCIW) won easily over the Bluejays (1-3, 0-3) in Kenosha.

Illinois Wesleyan 28, Carroll 13: The Titans (3-1, 3-0 CCIW) scored four unanswered touchdowns to put away the Pioneers (2-2, 1-2) in Waukesha.
