PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Donovan Jones, University School: The Wildcats are closing in on another Midwest Classic title thanks, in part, to the play of their sophomore midfielder. Jones scored twice in a 3-1 victory over Lake Country Lutheran on Wednesday in a match that pitted the final undefeated teams in the league. Saturday he recorded an assist in a 3-2 victory over Sheboygan Christian/Lutheran. Jones ranks second on the team behind senior Matias Dermond with 29 points (eight goals, 13 assists).
TEAM OF THE WEEK Marquette
The Hilltoppers hit the road and represented the state well at the Go4Goal Classic in Burlington, Iowa, ThursdaySaturday. They defeated one teams ranked in the USA Today top 25 and nearly defeated another on the way to a 2-1 record at the event. Thursday, they defeated the nation’s fourth-ranked team, Salesianum, of Wilmington, Del., 4-3, on a goal by Osvaldo Sanchez. The next day the Hilltoppers beat Morton, Ill., in a shootout. Saturday’s game also ended in a shootout, though this time Marquette lost to second-ranked Naperville (Ill.) North.

p.m. Tuesday: With Elkhorn on its way to the title in the Southern Lakes, this contest will determine who finishes second.
Nicolet at Whitefish Bay, 7 p.m Tuesday: This is the start of a big week for Bay, which takes on Cedarburg on the road Thursday.
New Berlin Eisenhower at Shorewood, 6:30 Wednesday: Eisenhower is ranked No. 10 in Division 2. Shorewood is the top-ranked team in Division 3.
Brookfield East at Union Grove, 7 p.m. Thursday: In another non-conference game between state-ranked teams it’s the state’s No. 2 Division 2 team travelling to eighth-ranked Union Grove.
