A food hall opening in November on Milwaukee’s east side will include vendors selling tacos, ice cream, South American items and other local fresh foods.

Crossroads Collective, at 2238 N. Farwell Ave., will feature eight “micro restaurants,” according to a statement from project developer New Land Enterprises. The food hall space formerly was a Rosati’s Pizza, which closed in March 2017.

Four of those outlets were named in the announcement:

❚ Laughing Taco, which operates in Walker’s Point, at 1033 S. 1st St., will now have an east side location. The restaurant is owned by Justin Carlisle and Lucia Munoz-Carlisle.

❚ Scratch Ice Cream, which sells homemade ice cream and toppings to stores and restaurants, will have its first shop. Scratch is operated by Ryan Povlick and Dustin Garley.

❚ The owners of Tess, 2499 N. Bartlett Ave., Ashley and Mitchell Wakefield, will collaborate with Tess executive chef Martin Magana to debut a soup and sandwich concept.

❚ Pedro’s South American Food, a food truck operated by Pedro Tejada, will open its first brick and mortar location.

Crossroads plans to announce four more vendors in the coming weeks. They will include outlets serving Mediterranean food, crepes and fresh/green options.

Crossroads’ stalls are smaller than those in other public markets and traditional food courts because the vendors share cooking, preparation and storage space in a commissary-style kitchen, according to New Land Enterprises.

Korb + Associates designed the space.

Also, Wallpapered City, owned by Stacey Williams-Ng, is bringing local artists to create artworks for the food hall and a connected speakeasy-type tavern.
