When researching a home or neighborhood, Julia Griffith says, “practice makes perfect, or it makes you pull your hair out. But you always learn something. And if you run into a dead end, you probably
have at least two more avenues to pursue.”

Classes: Historic Milwaukee Inc. offers classes on researching the history of your home. The next class will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 2 at Historic Milwaukee, 235 E. Michigan St. Classes are about 1 1⁄2 hours. The fee is $10 for members, $20 for non-members.
