Brewers to broadcast almost every spring game

- JR Radcliffe

With enthusiasm for the Milwaukee Brewers reaching sky-high levels following a run to within one game of the World Series in 2018, fans will have a chance to hear 27 spring training games on the radio starting Feb. 23, and 14 will be on TV.

The Brewers released their full spring broadcast slate, with 14 games televised on Fox Sports Wisconsin, 15 available on AM-620, four on FM-94.5 and eight more audio webcasts at Brewers.com.

The games will look and sound a lot like regular-season broadcasts. Legendary broadcaster Bob Uecker and partners Jeff Levering and Lane Grindle will handle the radio broadcasts. Bill Schroeder, Brian Anderson and Craig Coshun will appear in the booth for TV broadcasts, and Sophia Minnaert will handle sideline duties.

The only games that will be not be aired in some capacity are split-squad games in which two games are played on the same day, and only one is broadcast. The Brewers are off March 4 and March 18, meaning every day the Brewers are playing spring baseball, a broadcast will be available.

The first game: Saturday, Feb. 23 on AM-620, when the Brewers battle the Cubs at Sloan Park in the Cactus League opener. The first televised game arrives Feb. 25 with the Los Angeles Angels hosting Milwaukee at Tempe Diablo Stadium (a game also on AM-620).

On March 9, fans could listen to half the team play the Athletics on AM-620 and watch the other half play the Angels on Fox Sports Wisconsin (with the Fox Sports West production team).

The preseason slate closes with two games in Montreal against the Toronto Blue Jays on March 25-26. Both those games will be available on webcast at Brewers.com.
