Suh agrees to terms with Buccaneers

-

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Thursday that they have agreed to terms with defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.

Terms were not disclosed, but ESPN reported that the one-year deal is worth $9.25 million and has incentives that could push the total to $10 million.

The 32-year-old Suh will be entering his 10th season in the NFL and is coming off a productive year with the Los Angeles Rams.

Suh replaces Gerald McCoy, a sixtime Pro Bowl player who was released by the team earlier in the week.

Cincinnati guard suspended: The NFL suspended Cincinnati Bengals guard Alex Redmond for the first four games of the 2019 regular season for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Redmond is eligible to participate in all off-season and preseason practices and games before sitting out the first month of the regular-season schedule.

Redmond started 15 games last season, his second in the NFL, at right guard. He played in five games, with no starts, the previous year.

Signed as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA in 2016, Redmond failed to make the Cincinnati roster. He was resigned in 2017.

Two 49ers hurt: Two key San Francisco 49ers defensive players are sidelined from injuries during the offseason program.

The 49ers said that safety Jimmie Ward broke his collarbone at practice and that first-round defensive end Nick Bosa has been diagnosed with a grade 1 hamstring strain.

Ward is expected to miss at least eight to 12 weeks but should be healed by the start of the season. Bosa will need a few weeks to recover and will likely be out for the rest of the off-season program that ends June 13 but ready for training camp in July. Bosa hurt his hamstring during practice Tuesday.

Bosa was picked second overall by the 49ers despite going down with a season-ending core muscle injury in his third game last season for Ohio State. Bosa was part of a major upgrade this offseason to San Francisco’s pass rush, along with defensive end Dee Ford.

Cleveland to host the draft: The NFL’s draft road show is headed to Cleveland and Kansas City.

To celebrate the Browns’ 75th anniversary, the 2021 draft will be held in Cleveland. Two years later, the home of the Chiefs gets its chance.

In recent years, the league has taken the draft out of New York and to Chicago; Philadelphia; Arlington, Texas; and Nashville. Next year it will be in Las Vegas a few months before the Oakland Raiders move there.

Kansas City’s draft will take place in the area around Union Station and the National World War I Museum and Memorial.
