Megadeth, Papa Roach to headline Summerfest
A “day of rock” led by metal legend Megadeth and rocker Papa Roach will headline Summerfest’s American Insurance Amphitheater July 4, the last open slot in the 11-day music festival’s headliner lineup.
The bands, joined by Pop Evil and Badflower, helped Summerfest fill the void left by Ozzy Osbourne, who canceled his entire 2019 tour — including a July 4 Summerfest gig — to recover from injuries he sustained while recovering from pneumonia.
Tickets for the new July 4 amphitheater show, which starts at 4 p.m., will go on sale at noon on May 31 at the Summerfest box office,
and all Ticketmaster outlets. Information on ticket prices wasn’t immediately available.
Summerfest also announced Thursday that World of Dance featuring The Lab, Swing Latino and Briar Nolet will join the bill for Jennifer Lopez’s July 3 concert at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.
The music festival, which runs from June 26-30 and July 2-7, also added a few headlining acts to its grounds stages Thursday. They include:
❚ Lifehouse, 10 p.m. June 29, U.S. Cellular Connection Stage
❚ Tori Kelly, 9:45 p.m. June 30, BMO Harris Pavilion
❚ Liz Phair, 10 p.m. July 2, Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard
❚ T.I., 10 p.m. July 5, U.S. Cellular Connection Stage
❚ Bleachers, 9:45 p.m. July 6, Harley-Davidson Roadhouse
❚ The Strumbellas, 10 p.m. July 7, Miller Lite Oasis
❚ JOHNNYSWIM, 10 p.m. July 7, Johnson Controls World Stage
