Brewers set annual Arctic event for Feb. 15

One day after stoking their fans’ interest with their “On Deck” festival downtown, the Brewers followed up Monday with details of this year’s Arctic Tailgate, the annual event that begins sales of single-game tickets.

The Arctic Tailgate will take place Feb. 15 at Miller Park, beginning at 9 a.m. Game tickets will be available at the box office but those who can’t attend also can purchase them online or by calling (414) 902-4000.

For those into winter overnight camping, fans can begin to set up tents for the event at noon Feb. 14. Tailgate festivitie­s will begin at 3 p.m.

Only a “very limited” number of opening day tickets will be available at the event, with a maximum purchase of four tickets. For informatio­n on demand-based pricing, go to

Miller signs minor-league deal: The Brewers signed righthande­r Shelby Miller to a minorleagu­e deal with an invitation to their big-league camp. Miller, 29, spent five weeks in the Brewers’ farm system last season after being released by Texas but didn’t make it to the majors before being cut loose.

Miller has a 38-56 record and 4.11 ERA in 150 career games (132 starts) with St. Louis, Atlanta, Arizona and Texas. His best season was with the Cardinals in 2013, when he went 15-9 with a 3.06 ERA in 31 starts.
