- Sarah Hauer

More than 1,100 vendors trying to capitalize on the 2020 Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee are now listed in a searchable database.

The database, launched by the Milwaukee 2020 Host Committee Monday, features businesses that want to provide services to organizers and visitors of the convention.

All sorts of businesses can sign up, from transportation and real estate service providers to finance, manufacturing and mining.

Around 50,000 people are expected to descend on Milwaukee this summer for the four-day convention.

“Our goal at the Host Committee is to use the presence of the Democratic National Convention to highlight and uplift exceptional local and diverse businesses,” said Lafayette Crump, deputy chief of staff and vice president of diversity and inclusion at the Milwaukee 2020 Host Committee, in a news release.

“Our new Vendor Search Portal will help us fulfill that goal by connecting convention visitors to local businesses that will not only help them create unique convention experiences, but also help to ensure the economic impact of the convention is widely experienced throughout the Milwaukee region.”

A large portion, though not all, of the vendors already listed on the portal are in the Milwaukee or Wisconsin area. The portal can be searched at milwaukee2020.com/vendor-search. Vendors that want to be included in the portal can register at milwaukee2020.com/

vendor-sign-up. Vendors will need to submit information about their business or service.
