Player of the week

Tyrese Hunter, Racine St. Catherine’s:

In a showdown of the Metro Classic’s top teams, the Angels scored one of their most impressive wins of the season thanks to the play of the junior guard. St. Catherine’s won, 79-53, as Hunter scored a career-high 41 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He hit 14 of 19 shots, including 9 for 12 from three-point range, as St. Catherine’s clinched the title outright to win the league for the second straight year.

Teams of the week

Palmyra-Eagle

The Panthers completed an undefeated season in the Trailways South with victories over Deerfield on Tuesday and Johnson Creek on Friday. Junior forward Aiden Calderon had 22 points on 8-for-10 shooting in the league finale. The team, however, clinched the title with its win over second-place Deerfield. Calderon flirted with a doubledoub­le in that game (11 points, nine rebounds) while juniors Cameron Joyner and Casey Webber had 14 points each. Senior Brandon Wilde dished out 11 assists.

Racine Case

The Eagles wrapped up their first Southeast Conference title since 2015 with a 63-59 victory Kenosha Bradford on Tuesday and then completed the league season Friday with a 96-92 overtime victory over Franklin. Junior JaKobe Thompson had 23 points and five rebounds against second-place Bradford. Senior Jonathan Rankins added 15 points on 7-for-12 shooting. Three days later at Franklin, sophomore Terryon Brumby had 32 points and Thompson finished with 30 to help the Eagles complete a 12-2 season in the conference.

Milwaukee Bay View at Milwaukee

King, 7 p.m. Tuesday: The final undefeated teams in the City Conference meet during the last week of the regular season. It doesn’t get much better.

Milwaukee Academy of Science at Oshkosh Lourdes, 7 p.m. Wednesday:

This could be a preview of teams that make it to state in Division 4. Lourdes is 20-1.

Racine Case at Sussex Hamilton, 7 p.m. Thursday: The Chargers play host to the Southeast Conference champion.

Milwaukee Lutheran at Wisconsin Lutheran, 7 p.m. Thursday: The champions of the Woodland East and Woodland West meet for the conference championsh­ip.

Nicolet at Homestead, 7:15 p.m. Thursday: Besides Nicolet, Homestead is the hottest team in the North Shore with eight wins in its last nine games.

St. John’s Northweste­rn Military Academy at Lake Country Lutheran, 7:15 Thursday: St. John’s has wrapped up the Midwest Classic title, but a trip to second-place Lutheran will serve as a nice primer for the tournament.
