Arrowhead, U-School standouts lead first-team selections

University School and Arrowhead were the area's best boys hockey teams this past season, and the Wisconsin Hockey Coaches Associatio­n all-state team reflects that.

University School, which made its second straight WIAA state tournament appearance, had four players, including two first-team picks, selected.

Arrowhead, which won the Classic 8 and went undefeated until the sectional final, had two first-team picks and three selections overall.

University School's Tyler Herzberg and Arrowhead's Nick Catalano were considered for the state player of the year honor that went to Northland Pines senior Brady Snedden.

Arrowhead's Carl Valimont was named the state coach of the year.
