Biden planning virtual visit

- Mary Spicuzza

Former Vice President Joe Biden is headed back to the virtual campaign trail next week.

And he’s going to focus on Wisconsin, the battleground state that could determine the outcome of November’s election with President Donald Trump.

Biden, the presumptive Democratic Party presidential nominee, is scheduled on Wednesday to hold a virtual roundtable on rural issues in La Crosse with U.S. Rep. Ron Kind, followed by a virtual rally in Milwaukee.

This is Biden’s second “virtual” campaign trip.

Earlier this month he held virtual events in Florida, another battleground state which, like Wisconsin, is expected to play a key role in this year’s election.

Jill Biden, his wife, has done virtual events focused on Michigan, Pennsylvania and Arizona.

Biden is expected to conduct his virtual Wisconsin visit from his home in Wilmington, Delaware, as he follows social distancing guidelines during the coronavirus pandemic.

Biden is expected to kick off his Wisconsin events Wednesday with the 10 a.m. virtual rural issues roundtable, followed by the 3:30 p.m. virtual rally.

To attend the events, people must RSVP for the virtual roundtable as well as the virtual rally. Register for the roundtable at joe.link/WIroundtable. Register for the Milwaukee virtual rally at joe.link/WIrally.

Biden’s virtual visit comes after he had a lengthy Zoom call with Monica Watry, an ICU nurse who works in downtown Milwaukee.
