Bucks will resume their season July 31
The Milwaukee Bucks will resume their quest to win the NBA title on July 31 when they take on the Boston Celtics at HP Field House.
The NBA released the remainder of the regular-season schedule Friday for the 22 teams who will take part on the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, Florida.
The Bucks will also take on the Houston Rockets on Aug. 2, the Brooklyn Nets on Aug. 4, the Miami Heat on Aug. 6, the Dallas Mavericks on Aug. 8, the Toronto Raptors on Aug. 10, the Washington Wizards on Aug. 11 and Memphis Grizzlies on Aug. 13.
The New Orleans Pelicans and Utah Jazz will be in the first game of the resumed NBA season on July 30 in the opener of a doubleheader. The second game of nationally televised twinbill will pit the Los Angeles Lakers against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Players will start arriving at the Disney complex on July 7, will be tested daily once they get there, and could be away from their families for more than three months. Families aren't expected to be permitted on-site at Disney until the start of the second round of the playoffs, set to begin in late August or early September.
The NBA playoffs will begin Aug. 17, and the NBA Finals are set to begin Sept. 30 with a possible Game 7 on Oct. 13.
More positive tests: Sixteen NBA players of 302 tested positive for coronavirus, the NBA and National Basketball Players Association said in a joint news release on Friday.
“Any player who tested positive will remain in self-isolation until he satisfies public health protocols for discontinuing isolation and has been cleared by a physician,” both organizations said in a statement.
The 5.3% positive test rate is not as high as some expected as teams prepare to leave for Florida, where the NBA will resume its season next month at the ESPN complex near Orlando. When players and essential NBA personnel arrive in Florida, they will be tested daily.
