2 men killed, another hurt in separate shootings

Milwaukee’s violent 2020 continued Wednesday morning as Milwaukee police reported two separate fatal shootings.

At 4:40 a.m. in the 3900 block of West Lloyd Street, police responded to a call about a shooting and found a 28year-old Milwaukee man dead.

Roughly four hours later in the 5600 block of North 65th Street, a 27-year-old Milwaukee man was also found dead of a gunshot.

The two fatal shootings came less than 12 hours after a 45-year-old man was shot while driving his car in the 600 block of South First Street. The man survived and was taken to a hospital.

The circumstan­ces of the three incidents are under investigat­ion and police continue to seek suspects.

Man killed in crash with police van in Bay View

A 27-year-old Milwaukee man died Tuesday afternoon after colliding headon with a Milwaukee police squad in the Bay View neighborho­od, authoritie­s said.

The man was driving eastbound about 4:30 p.m. in the 900 block of East Oklahoma Avenue when he crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and crashed into the marked squad, which was headed westbound on Oklahoma, police said in a news release.

The man was driving quickly and recklessly, police said. He was extricated from his car and died from his injuries, police said.

A passenger, a 25-year-old Cudahy woman, suffered injuries that were not life-threatenin­g.

The officer driving the squad — which appeared to be a van, according to photos from the scene — is a 54-yearold man who also suffered injuries that were not life-threatenin­g. He has been on the force for 17 years, police said.

Both the officer and the woman were being treated at a hospital for their injuries.

The circumstan­ces that led to the crash are under investigat­ion, police said.

4 hurt, home damaged in South Milwaukee crash

A three-car crash sent four people to the hospital and resulted in significant damage to a home’s foundation on

Tuesday in South Milwaukee.

The crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. at 15th and Milwaukee avenues after a shopliftin­g suspect fled police.

The 53-year-old suspect is in custody, according to South Milwaukee police.

The four people were taken to Froedtert Hospital for non-life-threatenin­g injuries.

Man killed in single-vehicle crash

A motorist was killed in a crash Monday afternoon.

A vehicle driven by a 42-year-old man veered into oncoming traffic and struck a tree at 2:42 p.m. in the 4600 block of W. Silver Spring Drive, Milwaukee police said. The man was the only person in his vehicle.
