Allis Yards development lands Broadstep Health

- Tom Daykin

The Allis Yards mixed-use development in downtown West Allis has landed a new tenant for one of its office buildings.

Broadstep Behavioral Health Inc., a national provider of behavioral health and residential support services, will relocate its Wisconsin business office, community support program and pharmacy to Allis Yards in October.

The new 12,000-square-foot location, at 1205 S. 70th St., will enable greater collaboration among Broadstep programs and provide space needed for increased growth, the company said in a Wednesday announcement.

Broadstep was previously known as Bell Therapy and Phoenix Care Systems Inc. Its local operations include an office building, at 1744-1750 N. Farwell Ave., that was sold in November to St. John's Communities Inc.

“Bringing the operations of these departments together in a beautiful new space will further our ability to provide high quality behavioral and mental healthcare to our community,” said Jessica Zoch, Broadstep state director.

“We believe our team members and the individuals we serve will feel more comfortable in our new space,” she said.

Allis Yards, previously known as West Quarter, is being developed by Cobalt Partners LLC.

It includes two remodeled office buildings on the west side of South 70th Street, north of West Madison Street. That's where Broadstep is relocating.

Another building next to the offices is being converted into an events venue.

The first phase also features a 105room Home2 Suites hotel being built on the east side of South 70th, south of West Washington Street at the former Allis-Chalmers Corp. complex.

It is replacing an office building that was razed.

Future phases envision office buildings, apartments and retail space.

CBRE Inc.'s Alyssa Geisler, John Mazza and Lacey Fisher represented Cobalt Partners in the Broadstep transaction.
