- Natalie Brophy Appleton Post-Crescent USA TODAY NETWORK – WISCONSIN

Wisconsin health officials reported an additional 829 people have tested positive for COVID-19.

Those positive cases made up 7.3% of the 11,335 test results reported by the Department of Health Services on Saturday. The seven-day average for positive tests stood at 7%.

The state health department also reported Saturday that 13 more people have died, bringing Wisconsin's total number of deaths to 1,038. Those who have died as a result of COVID-19 make up 1.6% of all those diagnosed, according to DHS.

Wisconsin passed 1,000 COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday of this week.

Of 65,056 Wisconsin residents who have tested positive:

55,127, or 84.8%, are considered “recovered” by DHS, meaning either there is documented proof their symptoms have resolved or it's been 30 days since their diagnosis.

8,828, or 13.6%, are considered “active,” meaning they aren't “recovered” and haven't died.

At least 5,275 have been hospitalized, although DHS doesn't know in about a third of confirmed COVID-19 cases whether the infected person was ever admitted to a hospital.

1,038, or 1.6%, have died.

As of Friday afternoon, 336 people with COVID-19 were hospitalized, 110 of them in intensive care, according to DHS. An additional 239 patients were hospitalized awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test.

The department of health's weekly ratings of county COVID-19 activity — which are based on a combination of total new cases per 100,000 people over the past two weeks and the percentage change in new cases between the past seven days and the seven days before that — are as follows:
