Boy, 2, in critical condition after suffering gunshot wound
A 2-year-old boy is in critical condition after suffering a single gunshot wound Saturday on Milwaukee’s northwest side.
Officers were called to the 2100 block of North 38th Street in the Washington Park neighborhood at 5 p.m., police said. A male and female have been arrested. No other details were available.
One killed, four injured in a two-vehicle accident
Milwaukee police are investigating a vehicle accident that killed one woman and injured four others about 3:20 a.m. Saturday at North Sixth Street and West
Wisconsin Avenue.
According to police, a 26-year-old man ran a red light and struck a car, causing it to flip on its side.
The driver of the second car was a 29year-old woman. She was partially ejected, trapped and had to be extracted. She was seriously injured and transported to a hospital. She died on Sunday.
A 28-year-old woman, 34-year-old man and 26-year-old man were passengers in the woman’s car. They all suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
One passenger in the man’s car, a 28year-old man, has non-life-threatening injuries.
All four people were transported to a hospital for injuries.
The driver who ran the red light was arrested. Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
A man pulled from the Milwaukee River by divers Saturday night has died, police said Sunday.
The man, 28, jumped in the river while fleeing on foot from Milwaukee County sheriff’s deputies around 6:10 p.m. in the 100 block of West Clybourn Street, Milwaukee police said in news release.
Milwaukee Fire Department divers were called at 6:22 p.m., entered the water at 6:36 and pulled the victim from the water 10 minutes later, Acting Deputy
Chief DeWayne Smoots said. Witnesses reported seeing the man jump in the river.
