Player of the week

Keona McGee, Dominican: The freshman guard posted double-doubles in victories over St. Thomas More and The Prairie School last week that evened the team’s record at 3-3. She finished with 24 points on 9-for-18 shooting with 10 steals in a 56-28 win over Thomas More on Tuesday. Two days later she went for 21 points on 7-for-13 shooting with 10 assists in 63-35 victory over The Prairie School.

Team of the week

West Bend West: The Spartans added some intrigue to the North Shore Conference race by defeating previously unbeaten Hartford on Tuesday and then taking care of Port Washington on Friday to raise their record to 3-1. Junior guard Isabella Baker (16 points, eight rebounds), senior guard Ellie Meuer (13 points, seven rebounds) and junior forward Kira Guse (12 and five) led West against Hartford. Meuer (23 points) and junior guard Lexi Williams (16) led the Port Washington win.

Coming up

Greenfield vs. South Milwaukee, Tuesday and Friday, 7 p.m.: Defending Woodland East champion South Milwaukee faces a Hawks squad that is off to a 3-0 start in the division. South Milwaukee hosts Tuesday and Greenfield on Friday.

West Bend West at Slinger, 7:15 Tuesday: West, which handed Hartford its first loss last week, aims to knock the Owls out of a share of the North Shore lead.

Franklin at Oak Creek, 5:30 p.m. Friday: Oak Creek opens the Southeast Conference season with a major test of its 112-game conference winning streak.

DSHA at Brookfield Central, 7 p.m. Friday: The winner gets second place alone in the Greater Metro. Mark Stewart
