Alice A. Murray

-

MILWAUKEE - Alice Murray (nee Haller) was called to eternal life on December 28, 2020 at the age of 83 after a courageous battle against dementia. Cherished wife of the late Francis (Frank). Alice is survived by her brother David (Pamela) Haller, Paul Haller and many adoring nieces and nephews, friends and family. She and Frank were married in September 1974 and together traversed the globe on humanitarian and goodwill missions, including multiple countries in East Africa, Southeast Asia and a three year residence in Venezuela. Alice and Frank were accomplished travelers and their global adventures were some of the highlights of their nearly 30-yearjourney together.

Alice spent her professional career in education, organizational development and management training. She led workshops and courses in employee development and growth, team building, intergroup conflict resolution and empowerment programs. She also taught English as a second language and spent nearly two decades as a member of the Maryknoll Sisters.

Alice never tapered her desire to learn and to teach. She continued to read passionately and pursue advanced degrees well into her 70s. She never stopped trying to make the world a better place.

Special thank you to Randy & Sharon (Haller) Simes for their devotion to Alice through her illness. Thank you to the staff at East Castle for Caring for Alice during her stay there.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date due to the ongoing pandemic. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of Alice’s favorite charities: Doctors without Borders (NY, NY); Amnesty International (NY, NY); Bread for the World (Washington D.C.)
