Players of the week

Brian Parzych, Wauwatosa East: The senior guard's perfect first half sparked the Red Raiders to a 91-65 win over Menomonee Falls on Friday that clinched the Greater Metro Conference title outright. Parzych, a Northern Michigan recruit, scored a career-high 30 points, 27 during the first half when he hit all 11 attempts, including three from three-point range. Tuesday when Tosa East beat Brookfield Central, 77-68, Parzych ranked second on the team with 18 points. The performanc­es helped the Red Raiders wrap up their first league since the 2007-08 season.

Team of the week

Waukesha West: The Wolverines dispatched of two Classic 8 rivals, turning back Kettle Moraine, 68-61, Tuesday on the road in a game that could have cost them sole possession of first place and defeating Waukesha South, 71-53, at home Friday to snap the Blackshirt­s' eight-game winning streak. As a result, West assured itself of no worse than a share of first place in the league. Senior guard Cam Palesse averaged 24.5 points 4.5 rebounds and two assists in the games. Senior guard Peter Skogman and Colton DeBauch, a senior forward, averaged 12.5 points and 12 points, respective­ly, in the games with DeBauch averaging 7.5 rebounds.

The victory raised West's record to 13-3 with an 13-2 mark in the Classic 8.

Oak Creek at Brookfield East, 7 p.m.

Tuesday: The visiting Knights, fresh off a win over Franklin last week, take a shot at another team in the Division 1 state poll.

Waukesha West at Brookfield Central, 7 p.m. Wednesday: The Classic 8 champion pays a visit to Central, which appears to be hitting its stride.

Pewaukee at Whitnall, 7 p.m. Wednesday: The champions of the Woodland's West and East divisions meet to determine the overall conference champion.

Oshkosh Lourdes at Lake Country

Lutheran, 7:15 Thursday: This is a big week of non-conference games for Lutheran. In addition to Lourdes, which is tied for fifth in the Associated Press Division 4 poll, the Lightning plays host to Classic 8 leader Waukesha West on Saturday afternoon.
