The number of COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin continues to fall as the state reported just 206 new infections on Saturday, according to the state health department.

The number of new cases has been dropping steadily since mid-January, data from the state Department of Health Services show. On Saturday, the seven-day average of new cases hit 409, a low not seen since June.

As cases fall in Wisconsin, vaccinations are ramping up. The state was on track to vaccinate the most people yet last week, with 238,394 doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines administered since Feb. 28, according to DHS.

On Friday, Wisconsin passed 1 million people who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, which is about 18% of the state’s population of people 16 and older, according to DHS. The vaccine is not yet authorized for children younger than 16.

More than 590,000 Wisconsinites have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, most of whom are 65 or older, according to DHS. More than 60% of Wisconsinites age 65 and older have received at least one shot so far.

Wisconsin’s first shipment of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which was approved for use in the United States at the end of February, is expected to arrive this week, health officials said. The state expects to receive 47,000 doses of the one-shot vaccine. New cases reported: 206
