Visitation scheduled for Roundy’s shooting victim

- Elliot Hughes Milwaukee Journal Sentinel USA TODAY NETWORK – WISCONSIN

Public memorial services for one of the victims of the Roundy’s warehouse shooting in Oconomowoc have been scheduled for Saturday, March 27.

Public visitation for Kevin Schneider, 39, of West Allis, will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, according to his obituary. Private family services will follow.

Schneider and Kevin Kloth, 51, of Germantown, were shot and killed by a co-worker, Fraron Cornelius, 41, of Wauwatosa, at the warehouse Tuesday evening, according to police. Cornelius then died by suicide after a police chase ended in an accident. All three worked at the facility for at least 20 years.

Information on memorial services for Kloth have not been announced publicly, and the families of both Schneider and Kloth have chosen not to speak at this time.

Details about the shootings remain sparse. Authorities took 144 employees to the Oconomowoc police station Tuesday night and interviewed them all, so investigators are sorting through all that information.

Plus, detectives have more interviews to conduct and will have to redo some. Investigators are also looking at “extensive” security footage, digging through people’s social media histories and fielding tips.

Schneider’s death notice said he was a 1999 graduate of Racine Lutheran High School. He’d been married 10 years to his high school sweetheart, KatieLynne Kucharski, it said.

He was described as an avid sportsman and outdoorsman, and fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Penn State Nittany Lions football. He also demonstrated an interest in woodworking and caring for animals, and he and his wife were supporters of the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission. Memorials in his name to the commission were suggested.

“Above all, he was a genuinely kindhearted soul and overwhelmingly generous gentle giant who always made sure those around him were happy, content and well-cared for,” the death notice said.

He is survived by his wife, mother, father and sister, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
