Ruffalo wins again, this time at SAG Awards
Mark Ruffalo has run the table, winning the top award for a third time for his performance in “I Know This Much Is True” — this time, at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Ruffalo, a Kenosha native, won the first award given out on the air Sunday night at the SAG Awards. He won, for best male actor in a television movie or limited series, for his dual performance as identical twins — one of whom suffers from paranoid schizophrenia — in the HBO production.
Ruffalo previously took home a Golden Globe and an Emmy for his performance in the role.
Other TV winners at Sunday night’s SAG Awards included “Schitt’s Creek,” which took home the awards for best comedy series ensemble and best female actor in a comedy for Catherine O’Hara; “The Crown,” which won for best ensemble in a drama series and best female actor in a drama series for Gillian Anderson; Jason Sudeikis, for best male actor in a comedy series for “Ted Lasso”; Jason Bateman, for best male actor in a drama series for “Ozark”; Anya Taylor-Joy, for best female actor in a TV movie or limited series for “The Queen’s Gambit”; and “The Mandalorian,” for best stunt ensemble team.
Movie winners included “The Trial of the Chicago 7,” which took home the SAG Awards’ equivalent of best picture for best cast; Viola Davis and the late Chadwick Boseman, who won for best female actor and male actor respectively for “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”; Daniel Kaluuya, best supporting male actor for “Judas and the Black Messiah”; Youn Yuh-Jung, best supporting female actor for “Minari”; and “Wonder Woman 1984,” for best stunt ensemble team.
For the first time in the SAG Awards’ 27-year history, all four individual winners in the movie categories were actors of color.
