Wauwatosa’s Hue Restaurant is closing
Wauwatosa’s Hue Restaurant is closing this month, according to a news release.
Fans of the Vietnamese eatery, which opened in 2014, can still get their fix at the restaurant’s other location, in Bay View, 2691 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.
While the coronavirus pandemic “has certainly been challenging,” the Wauwatosa location’s closure is due to lease expiration and a reorganization plan that’s been in the works since 2019, according to the news release.
In 2019, 2699 S. Kinnickinnic LLC, which includes the owners of Hue Restaurant Group, purchased the former Sven’s Cafe property in Bay View, 2699 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.
The members of the limited liability company include Cat Tran and Mark Nielsen, who own both the Wauwatosa and Bay View Hue restaurants. The former Sven’s property is a few doors away from Hue Bay View.
“We are focusing our energy and efforts towards our exciting new expansion in Bay View,” the news release said. “More news involving these plans will be released soon.”
The final day for Hue Restaurant in
Wauwatosa, 6519 W North Ave., will be April 10.
The Wauwatosa location will still be used for the Hue Restaurant Group’s SquareMeal fresh-frozen meal service, production for local hunger relief programs, catering, and Hue Asian Kitchen Food Truck operations, the news release said.
The food truck will appear at The Landing at Hoyt Park and other locations over the summer.
“We want to thank the Wauwatosa community for its support over the last seven years,” the news release said.
