CLEVELAND 5, Tigers 2: Logan Allen recovered from a bumpy first inning to get his first win with Cleveland to complete a three-game sweep of Detroit, who could be without slugger Miguel Cabrera for a while.

Red Sox 14, ORIOLES 9: J.D. Martinez came off the COVID-19 list and hit three home runs, powering Boston to its sixth straight win. Martinez got a chance at a record-tying fourth homer in the ninth inning and struck out.

Yankees 8, RAYS 4 (10): Rougned Odor snapped a 10th-inning tie with his first hit as a Yankee, Gio Urshela homered and drove in three runs, and New York rallied to avoid a weekend sweep with an victory over Tampa Bay.

Mariners 8, TWINS 6: Kyle Seager hit his second homer of the game, a three-run drive in the ninth inning to complete the Mariners’ rally from a six-run deficit to beat the Twins. Seager had four hits and Taylor Trammell also homered for Seattle.

Brewers 9, CARDINALS 3: Avisaíl García homered for the second day in a row, Travis Shaw and Manny Piña also connected an Milwaukee beat St. Louis. García, who homered and drove in five runs in a 9-5 win Saturday, and Shaw hit early drives that helped the Brewers build a 7-0 lead in the second.

Royals 4, WHITE SOX 3 (10): Michael A. Taylor scored when Garrett Crochet misplayed Andrew Benintendi’s bunt in the 10th inning to lift Kansas City. Taylor opened the 10th on second and advanced on Nicky Lopez’s sacrifice.

Padres 2, RANGERS 0: Trent Grisham and Manny Machado homered, Craig Stammen led a parade of six effective San Diego relievers after starter Adrian Morejon left early with an injury, and the Padres beat the Rangers for a three-game sweep.

DODGERS 3, Nationals 0: Clayton Kershaw pitched six innings of five-hit ball to win an outstandin­g duel with Max Scherzer, and the Dodgers swept three games from the Nationals. Rookie Zach McKinstry homered and drove in all three runs.

DIAMONDBAC­KS 7, Reds 0: Luke Weaver retired the first 17 batters he faced, Eduardo Escobar homered for the fourth straight game for the Diamondbac­ks. Weaver took a no-hitter into the seventh inning.

GIANTS 4, Rockies 0: Anthony DeSclafani and three relievers combined to scatter eight hits and San Francisco completed a three-game sweep. DeSclafani struck out eight and gave up six hits in six innings.

Phillies at BRAVES, late: Freddie Freeman hit a two-run homer and drove in the go-ahead run with a grounder in the seventh inning to lead the Atlanta Braves to a 5-4 win over the Philadelph­ia Phillies on Saturday night.

Marlins at METS, susp.: Marcus Stroman criticized New York for starting Sunday’s game against the Miami Marlins in a steady rain. Stroman’s outing lasted just nine pitches before play was stopped.

Angels at BLUE JAYS, ppd.: The game between the Los Angeles Angels and Toronto scheduled for Sunday at the Blue Jays’ temporary home in Florida was postponed because of rain. The game will be made up as part of a split doublehead­er on Aug. 10.
