7-day average of new cases now up to 1K

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases increased for the 30th consecutiv­e day Thursday to 1,000 cases a day, according to state Department of Health Services data.

The average of daily cases is up 926 cases from one month ago and at the highest mark since February 7.

Hospitaliz­ations increased to 388 patients, up 309 from a month ago.
