- Tom Daykin

Wisconsin Vision Inc. is relocating and expanding three of its Milwaukeearea sites and adding remote eye health exams, the company announced Wednesday.

The eye care provider will move its site, at 7528 W. Burleigh St., Milwaukee, to 12325 W. Burleigh St., Wauwatosa, and its West Allis location, at 1401 S. 108th St., to 2262 S. 108th St. Those relocations will occur this fall. Meanwhile, Wisconsin Vision in May moved its Waukesha site to 116 E. Sunset Drive from just across the street.

All three relocations are designed to improve the customer experience and allow Wisconsin Vision to expand site footprints to 2,000 square feet. Two of the moves are from leased locations to Wisconsin Vision-owned properties.

Aside from new flooring, furnishings, lighting and cabinetry, all new locations feature “brand walls” showcasing products from Ray-Ban, Nike, Coach and others.

Additionally, Wisconsin Vision has installed interactive kiosks where customers can search vision wear choices.

“As our industry becomes more commoditized on the internet and with large retailers, we have to find creative ways to drive consumers to our locations and personalize and enhance their experience,” said Darren Horndasch, Wisconsin Vision president and chief executive officer, in a statement.

Also, Wisconsin Vision plans to launch teleoptometry remote eye health exams in the fall at its Franklin, West Allis, Janesville and Madison East locations.

New Berlin-based Wisconsin Vision has 26 locations in Wisconsin, and operates an additional dozen locations across Illinois and Indiana under the Heartland Vision and Eye Boutique brands. It has 300 employees and was established in 1978.
