Walker’s Point building’s redevelopment proceeds
Plans are proceeding to redevelop a historic Walker's Point building, last used as a school, into offices for a Milwaukee marketing and advertising firm as well as retail space.
The Zizzo Group Inc. plans to move its headquarters in June to a building at 131 S. First Street. A firm affiliate bought the property in June 2021 for $1.25 million.
The two-story, 12,200-square-foot building and an adjacent parking lot were sold by Seeds of Health Inc., a charter school operator that moved to the former Milwaukee Sentinel building, 918-922 N. Phillips Ave.
Zizzo Group is now based nearby at 207 N. Milwaukee St., in the neighboring Historic Third Ward.
The renovations at the Walker's Point building, which begin in February, will include an entry off West Seeboth Street, with a new staircase connecting to an upper floor reception and outdoor roof terrace, the firm announced Tuesday.
The office space, designed by the Rinka architectural firm, will accommodate additional staff and a hybrid work schedule where staff works remotely 50% of the work week.
The new space will include remote
