Player of the week Logan Dobberstein, Pewaukee

Dobberstein, a Kansas State recruit, helped the Pirates bounced back from their first run of consecutive losses in three-plus seasons with a monster effort at the plate. The senior reached base in 13 of 16 plate appearances. During that stretch he went 9 for 12 with seven runs batted in and five runs scored in wins over Cudahy, Muskego, Port Washington and Lake Mills. He smacked two triples and a double and also drew three walks and was hit by a pitch.

Team of the week Whitefish Bay

It was a productive week for the Blue Dukes, who outscored their opponents, 49-12, in five games, including a 16-3 victory at Port Washington on Friday that left them one win away from their third straight North Shore title. The most impressive victory was a 4-3 comeback win over Arrowhead on Saturday. Bay trailed, 3-2, after 31⁄2 innings. Senior DJ Kojis pitched six innings and allowed one earned run and later hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to clinch the win.

Coming up

Kenosha Tremper vs. Franklin, 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: Tremper, which entered the week with a 16-game winning streak, hits the tough part of its Southeast Conference schedule. The series starts at Franklin and shifts to Tremper before returning to Franklin.

New Berlin Eisenhower vs. Pewaukee at Waukesha Country Technical College, 4:45 p.m. Tuesday: Second-place in the Woodland West is on the line in a series that began Monday at Eisenhower.

St. Thomas More vs. Kenosha St. Joseph at Carthage College, 7 p.m., Wednesday: If St. Joseph beats Catholic Central on Tuesday, it can clinch the Metro Classic title with a win over second-place Cavaliers.

Brookfield Central vs. Marquette at Kapco Park, 7 p.m. Thursday: Central, which trails the first-place Hilltoppers by one game in the Greater Metro, tries to avenge a 1-0 loss on April 28. Catholic Memorial at Arrowhead, 11 a.m. Saturday: Depending on how these teams fare earlier in the week, Arrowhead could assure itself of at least a share of the Classic 8 title during this doubleheader.
