FOX POINT - Entered peacefully into eternal life on May 12, 2022. Born June 5, 1933 and raised in Peoria, Illinois. Daughter of Florence and Alva Gibson, sister of Patricia Gibson Stockdale. Graduated from UW-Madison, where she met her beloved late husband, Jack. Settled in Bayside and raised sons John and Jim (Middy). Adored and revered by her six grandchild­ren Emily, Isabel, Ella, Lukas, Annie (Brian Marcks) and Laura (Brady Hauser); and five great grandchild­ren.

Barbara served the Lord and others throughout her long career and retirement. Taught Home Economics, mainly at Glen Hills Middle School for 25 years. Served on the national Board of Kappa Delta Sorority for nine years, then on the Board of its local alumnae group raising money for groups helping children such as Ronald McDonald, the MACC Fund, and Meta House. Former President of the Swedish-American Historical Society of Wisconsin. Coordinate­d Fox Point Lutheran Church’s Kitchen Angels holding receptions for funerals, facilitate­d the Church’s Women’s Club, and oversaw its delightful annual Christmas Cookie Exchange. Grew, showed and shared award-winning dahlias.

A celebratio­n of her exemplary life will be held at Fox Point Lutheran Church on Monday, May 23: visitation 9:30-11:00 am, service 11:00-noon, reception noon-1:30. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Meta House of Milwaukee, Fox Point Lutheran Church, the Kappa Delta Foundation- Barbara Gibson Froemming Graduate Scholarshi­p, or the Swedish-American Historical Society of Wisconsin.
