Terry (Therese) Hooks

-

(Nee Datka & Schaefer) Left this world unexpectantly on May 14, 2022 at the age of 72. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer and grandchildren Hope Noel and Jaxon who made up the entirety of her world. Preceded in death by her parents (Julia and Stan) and husband Dave. Also loved by many wonderful friends and relatives.

Terry was a 1967 graduate of Notre Dame High School and a 1970 graduate of Milwaukee County General Hospital School of Nursing. After school Terry worked at Milwaukee County hospital in pediatrics, OB GYN clinic, and house of corrections. After her retirement she worked at Aurora Urgent Care. While Terry worked on her high school reunion committee, she was reunited with her high school sweetheart. They married and she moved to IL. Terry passed away on their 15-year anniversary. She filled her days volunteering at Hospice. After Daves passing she moved back to WI. She was working on getting settled into her new home. Five months back in WI was not enough time! She was taken away too soon and will be missed beyond words by Jennifer, her grandchildren, her friends, and family. Terry loved a good book, a great trip with family and friends(we had just booked our trip to Disney to celebrate the 50th), hanging out with family, playing Uno, gardening, going for walks, volunteering, and of course being warm. She was the best mother and Gma Gma in the world! Mom~ ~I’ll love you forever I’ll like you for always As long as I’m living my mommy you’ll be~ Terry dedicated her life caring for others until the very end. Her final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.

Your nurse tasks and final rounds are now complete, your duty is done, you can now go home in peace.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 27, from 330-530PM at Becker Ritter Funeral Home. A Service will follow at 530 PM.
