Player of the week Claire Tracy, Brookfield Academy

The sophomore midfielder is a great playmaker, but last week she impacted the game in other ways. In a match against Lake Country Lutheran last Monday that determined the Midwest Classic title, Tracy's ability to control the midfield was critical and the perfect pass she placed behind the defense led to a one-touch goal that was the winner in a 2-1 game. Two days later the Knights faced University School with a backup goalkeeper and Tracy's play helped keep pressure off the backline as she finished with four goals and three assists in a 7-0 win. She completed the regular season with 11 goals and eight assists.

Team of the week Union Grove

The Broncos scored wins over Badger and Elkhorn to secure the Southern Lakes title and complete an unbeaten season in the league. Monday senior Paige Cotton (two goals, one assists), sophomore Julia James (two goals) and junior Alexa Pettit (two assists) led the team to a 5-0 victory over Badger at home. Three days later, Pettit scored twice and sophomore Lia Peterson recorded two goals and one assist in a 4-1 victory at Elkhorn that completed the league season. Union Grove allowed just two goals in Southern Lakes play and finished 6-0-1 for its third conference title in the past four seasons.
