Peter F. Bliske

-

FRANKLIN - Peter F Bliske passed away peacefully on Monday, May 23, 2022, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with ALS.

Pete was a beloved husband to Karen “Kory” Bliske (nee Gleason), adoring father to his daughters Amanda Oxford (Levi) and Emily Bliske (Curtis Saemann), and proud “Poppy Pete” to granddaughter Dylan Oxford. He was a loving brother to Debbie Rick (Dennis), Mary Jo Bliske, Tina Kaiser, and Anne Bliske, a caring uncle to many nieces and nephews and a deeply devoted friend to so many.

Pete attended St. Rita Catholic grade school and Pius XI Milwaukee High School (1968). Shortly after graduating from high school, Pete enlisted in the Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. After his service, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Police Science from Marquette University. His work included computer operations at JI Case in Racine and he retired as computer operations supervisor at Beta Systems in Delafield, but the work that gave him the greatest sense of fulfillment was during his many years as a Milwaukee County Deputy Sheriff.

An avid sports fan, Pete enjoyed bowling and playing softball, cheering on the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and Bucks, but golf was his passion. The only thing that exceeded his love of golf was the love he had for his family.

Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the ALS Association Wisconsin Chapter.

He is gone only from our sight, never from our hearts.

Visitation at the Max A. Sass & Sons Mission Hills Chapel on Saturday, June 25 from 10 – 11:30 AM. Eulogies at 11:30 AM. Procession to follow to St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 7963 S. 116th St., Franklin. Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 PM.
