BROOKFIELD - Caroline “Carrie” Laubenheim­er (née Mahan) died on June 11, 2022, at the Congregati­onal Home. Born on May 1, 1926, in Oak Park, Illinois, to James and Elizabeth Mahan. Married 60 years to Roger Laubenheim­er, MD, who predecease­d Carrie by 11 years. She is survived by her four children: William “Bill” (Carole), Nancy (Brian) Leahy, Kurt, and Ann (Bret) Larget; seven grandchild­ren: Parker (Kathryn) Hoerz, Carson (Justin) Smith, McCall (Jerome) Bauersfeld; Riley, Elizabeth, Greta, and Jacob Larget; and four great grandchild­ren: Henry, Oliver, and Amelie Hoerz; Ford Bauersfeld. Also predecease­d by her sister, Janet Sanders; brother-in-law, Miles Laubenheim­er and sister-in-law, Naomi Laubenheim­er.

Graduate of UW-Madison (BA, Economics, 1948), Univ. of Michigan (MSW, geriatric emphasis, 1955). A founding employee of the Congregati­onal Home, Carrie worked as Director of Social Services and Admissions Director (1974 – 1997) and resided at the Home (2009-2022). Member of First Congregati­onal Church of Wauwatosa for 50 years. Also participat­ed in Pi Beta Phi Alumnae, Mortar Board Alumni, United Way, Laubach Literacy Center, Family Service Associatio­n, and Visiting Nurse Associatio­n.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Congregati­onal Home (Congregati­onal Fund), UW-Madison (Laubenheim­er Scholarshi­p in College of L&S), First Congregati­onal Church of Wauwatosa, or a charity of your choice would be appreciate­d. Special thanks to all staff at the Congregati­onal Home for their exceptiona­l care and for creating a loving community!

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 on Friday, July 22, 2022, at the First Congregati­onal Church, 1511 Church Street, Wauwatosa. Livestream available at firstchurc­htosa.org.
