Voit, Hansen lead all-state baseball teams
Whitefish Bay and Pewaukee fielded two of the state’s most talented teams this past season.
They also had two of the top players. Bay senior Mitch Voit and Pewaukee senior Carson Hansen were named the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association state players of the year for Division 1 and Division 2, respectively.
They were two of seven area players on the all-state first team. Twenty-two area players made the team in all.
Voit, who pitches and plays infield, also was named the Gatorade state player of the year and the area player of the year at the Milwaukee High School Sports Awards. The Michigan recruit hit .566 while going 11-0 with a 0.54 earned run average.
Hansen, an outfielder who will play at UW-Milwaukee, hit .490 and led the Pirates to the state semifinals.
