Priscilla N. Higgins

MEQUON - Nee Newton. Passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at the age of 85 years. She was born on April 25, 1937 in Findlay, Ohio to Dorothy and John Newton. Beloved wife of 64 years to Clark Higgins.

Priscilla graduated from Ohio University with a BS in Zoology and worked as a Medical Technologist. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Chi Omega.

Priscilla had many interests. An avid needlepointenthusiast, she created many wonderful pieces such as Christmas ornaments, pillows and even a rug. She loved the natural world and was certified in the Florida Master Naturalist Program. She volunteered at Riveredge Sanctuary in Saukville, Wisconsin and Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in Naples, Florida.

For many years Priscilla loved riding her bike and did many rides including the SAAGBRAW in Wisconsin. Golf and curling were a large part of her life.

Travel played a part also. She was able to combine this with her love of conservation on an epic cruise on an intimate ship in Alaska. Another example was a curling trip to Scotland as part of a USA woman’s team.

Loving mother to Nancy (the late Donald Quist), and Michael (Kathi). She is also survived by 5 wonderful Quist grandchildren Erin (Eric Vigo), Mason, Rachel, Emma and Michael (aka Arwen) and one great-granddaughter, Zelda Vigo.

Preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and John Newton, and her sister, the late Martha (the late Jack Beyerly).

Memorial service will be held at 3:00 on Friday, July, 8, 2022 at Crossroads Presbyterian Church,6031 West Chapel Hill Road, Mequon, WI 53097.
