Robert A. “Bob” Steininger passed away February 10th at the age of 87. Beloved husband to Rochelle (Nee Boudreau) Steininger. Loving father to Lynne Steininger, Laura Steininger, Richard (Kathleen) Steininger and Jeanne (Jason) Kleve. Proud grandfathe­r to Sam (Maria) Steininger, Joseph Kleve and Matthew Kleve, as well as caring uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, Adolf and Marie Steininger, his first wife, June (Nee Dittmer) Steininger, and mother of his 4 children; sister Mary Ellen Janz and brother James “Jimmy” Steininger.

Bob was born January 15, 1936 in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from West Division High School where he met his first wife, June. They married in 1957 and had 4 children, Lynne, Laura, Rick and Jeanne. June passed away from colon cancer at age 35, leaving Bob with 4 children. He dedicated his entire life to his children.

13 years later, he met Rochelle. They married in 1987 and just celebrated their 35th wedding anniversar­y.

Bob worked full time while in college, graduating from Marquette University with a degree in business. Bob dedicated his entire career in the Human Resources industry in Milwaukee, as the VP of Human Resources at Johnson Controls, Inc.

Bob was a brilliant man, (known as the family “encycloped­ia”), with a passion for reading, learning and teaching. He was an avid lap swimmer with Rochelle until the age of 86. He also had a love of cars and fishing. He took such joy in being a grandfathe­r. Bob was extremely generous, and many are grateful for his kind generosity.

Visitation at the Funeral Home on Monday, February 20th, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial on February 21st at 12pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12130 W. Center St. Last Rites and burial following Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7301 W Nash St.

In lieu of flowers, please remember his favorite charities: Discalced Carmelite Priests of Holy Hill at The Basilica and National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians, Priests of the Sacred Heart, or St. Jude Research Hospital.
