Louis Frank Schulz went to his heavenly home on February 3, 2023. His belief in his Savior gave him comfort and peace to the end.

Louis was born to the late Alexander and Elizabeth( née Arndt) Schulz on April 13, 1931, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1949-1953. He was stationed in Alaska and was responsibl­e for Air Traffic Control GCA. His remaining career was spent at Allis Chalmers, first in their Photograph­y Department and later in the Telecommun­ications Department.

While a teenager, Louis received his private pilot’s license; as an adult, he was active in the amateur radio community as N9LOU; and throughout his married life, he and his wife had a steadfast commitment to Lutheran education.

Louis was married to Shirley Mae Verhaalen (deceased) for 45 years. He is survived by their three children, Gregory (Paula) Schulz of Slinger, Wisconsin, Glenn (Beth) Schulz of Branson, Missouri, and Kathleen (John) Workentine of Grafton, Nebraska. He is also survived by eight grandchild­ren and nine great-grandchild­ren. He was preceded in death by his sister Marilyn Pierson and two grandchild­ren, Stephan and Kyleigh Schulz.

Funeral services will be held at Zion Evangelica­l Lutheran Church in Springfiel­d, Missouri on February 24 at 1:00. Pastor Ed Lehmann will officiate the service. Louis will be buried at Wisconsin Memorial Park on February 27, at 1:00. His son, Pastor Gregory Schulz will conduct the service of interment.
