Jo Ann K. Grice

(nee Kammeyer) Surrounded by her children, Jo Ann peacefully entered into eternal life on February 20, 2023 at the age of 93. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Werner Grice; loving mother of Marda Reid, Hope (Robert) Longwell-Grice, and Kurt

(Sheila) Grice; proud grandmother of Dylan, Kara; Emily; Alexander, and Stephanie; and even prouder great-grandmother of Ethan, Lily, Miro, Timo, and Baer. She was the treasured daughter of the late Alvin and Vera Kammeyer and the cherished sister of the late David Kammeyer.

Jo Ann was a brilliant, fun, creative and loving woman. In high school, she was honored as her class valedictorian at Hinsdale Township High School. Together Jo Ann and Bob lived in many parts of the country during their almost 60-year marriage. She successfully practiced her profession as a legal secretary in many of those locations. Fulfilling her creative side, Jo Ann played piano and organ beautifully; sewed, knitted and wrote poetry. She was a professionally trained dancer and, since they met, loved ballroom dancing with Bob. She enjoyed going to the theater, museums, and concerts both in Milwaukee and New York. Her faith and her family were central in her life. Jo Ann volunteered time and talents to her church and her children’s extra-curricular activities. She enjoyed traveling abroad as well as taking many road trips all over the country. Her happiest moments were those with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing games, laughing and sharing love.
