Ranae Zautcke Stavish

(Nee Lyman) Age 84, died peacefully on March 21, 2023, surrounded by family. She is survived by her daughter Katy Zautcke (John) Thomas; stepsons Andrew Stavish and Anthony Stavish Jr.; by her grandchild­ren she adored, William, John, and Elizabeth Ostermeyer, and Eleonor (Christian) Paese and Haley Thomas (Michael Barr); and by extended family; special assistant Cindy Edwards; and friends too numerous to list. She was preceded in death by her daughter Cindy Zautcke (Michael) Ostermeyer; husbands, Alvin B. Zautcke Jr. and Anthony W. Stavish; her parents Ray and Celia Lyman; her brother Lynn Lyman; and stepson John Stavish.

Ranae grew up on the south side of Milwaukee, graduating from Pulaksi High School in 1957. She worked in the Radiology Department of St. Luke’s Hospital where she met her husband Alvin. Alvin and Ranae moved fulltime to Pewaukee Lake in 1975, where they raised their daughters and developed deep roots and many lifelong friends in Lake Country. Ranae loved sewing clothes for herself and her daughters, including most prom and homecoming dresses for her daughter Cindy. Her love for sewing extended into a passion for quilting. Ranae was a devoted McQuilter at the Ronald McDonald House in Wauwatosa. Ranae’s other interests included serving as a board member and manager of the Pewaukee Yacht Club, supporting the Volunteer Service Club of Pewaukee, volunteeri­ng wherever she could, and playing bridge at every opportunit­y. In 2021 Ranae moved into Lake Terrace Apartments in Oconomowoc, where she made many new friends and enjoyed an independen­t lifestyle.

Relatives and friends wishing to celebrate Ranae’s life are invited to a visitation at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Dr., Hartland, WI, on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 11AM until time of Mass at 12 noon. Private burial for family to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ranae’s honor are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern WI-Wauwatosa, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, or the Pewaukee Lake Sailing School.
