Sully’s Sandwiches has closed; Miss Molly’s Cafe set to expand

- Rachel Bernhard

Sully’s Sandwiches, a counter-service sandwich shop on Milwaukee’s west side near Wauwatosa, has closed.

The restaurant closed its doors Friday after just over a year in business.

Owner Molly Sullivan, who also operates Sully’s sister restaurant Miss Molly’s Cafe, 9201 W. Center St., announced the closure on social media.

“Due to increased demand at our big sister café, Miss Molly’s, we’ve made the decision to close Sully’s Sandwiches,” she wrote. “We’ve had so much fun slinging sandwiches for you guys this past year, but, hey, things change and we change along with them!”

That changes includes keeping the Sully’s space, which is next door to Miss Molly’s at 9211 W. Center St., and transitioning it to operate as a bakery and catering production kitchen for Miss Molly’s Cafe.

“Without having opened Sully’s, we never would have realized how much our hearts belong in Miss Molly’s Cafe,” Sullivan wrote. “Please don’t be sad for us, no tears are being shed over here!”

Any Sully’s Sandwiches gift cards will be accepted at Miss Molly’s Cafe.

Aside from expanding Miss Molly’s production, Sullivan also announced that Miss Molly’s will undergo new branding and interior finishes, which are planned to be unveiled this spring. More changes to the cafe this spring and summer include earlier opening hours, opening the restaurant on Tuesdays, and expanded bakery and catering options.

“Thank you for all your support, kindness and for spending your hard-earned money at our small business over the last (almost) seven years,” Sullivan wrote. “We are planning to to stick around for many years to come.”
