MIDCENTURY IMMERSION
SINCE 1981, groups like Historic Walker’s Point and now Historic Milwaukee are opening our eyes to architectural gems in every corner of the city. Over the past three decades, over 40,000 people have toured unique places in neighborhoods from the Third Ward and Brady Street to Story Hill and Sherman Park and seen how former warehouses, factories, taverns and more have been renovated and restored.
In the latest installment of the event series Spaces & Traces, Historic Milwaukee visits Glendale to explore eight midcentury homes and eight businesses that tell the area’s story. The event starts with a lecture from Milwaukee’s favorite historian, John Gurda, at the Bavarian Bierhaus and wraps up with an afternoon talk about midcentury modern homes in the area. The best part: Make your own itinerary and go at your own pace.
