What are the trends in hair this year?

Hair extensions are very popular. Balayage with platinum and icy blondes and gray hues are leading the pack in terms of color trends. It seems that we are slowly moving away from the jewel tones and pastels. Soft, natural balayage lightening seems to be going the distance in terms of trend longevity.

What advice do you offer for someone who is looking for a new hairstyle?

First and foremost, you want to choose a highly trained and experienced hair stylist who listens to you and understands the look you are attempting to achieve. Be sure to ask what will be required to maintain the color and/or haircut that you have chosen. You’ll also want some instruction on how to style your hair at home, and what styling products you’ll need to achieve that fresh-from-thesalon look.

How do you stay on top of what’s happening in your industry?

We are committed to continuing education and are fortunate to have the professional supply and product companies that we’ve loyally worked with come in at least once a month to train and sharpen our skills with regards to products, services and current trends in the beauty industry.

What do you love most about your job?

Where do I start?! There are so many reasons why I love my job! For the last 18 years, I’ve worked with some of the most talented professionals in the beauty industry from all over the world! I have been blessed beyond measure with loyal and committed staff members both past and present and with clients who complete our Azana family. The beauty industry is forever evolving, but Azana’s commitment to five-star service and a passion for positivity has been a constant in this ever-changing world of trends.
