Retire Right
We spoke with Andy Burish, a financial adviser with The Burish Group and UBS, about managing wealth and planning for retirement.
How does UBS help clients prepare for their retirement?
We take an approach to wealth management that we call “UBS Wealth Way” with three key strategies: Liquidity – to help maintain your lifestyle; Longevity – to help improve your lifestyle; and Legacy – to help improve the lives of others. Organizing your money in this way can help you clearly understand where your money is – and why. And segmenting funds for your short-term spending needs can help you stay focused on your long-term goals, no matter what the markets are doing.
If a client is looking to retire in 10-15 years, how does that change the strategy UBS might recommend?
We would focus on the longevity and legacy portion of their financial strategy. Additionally, we would suggest a higher allocation in alternative investments. Alternatives, when used appropriately, have a low correlation to traditional equities and bonds, and can be instrumental in adding to the total return of the portfolio for a given level of risk.
Why should someone choose UBS over other firms?
UBS has been named the World’s Best Bank for Wealth Management by Euromoney* for 2021. The Burish Group was named a Barron’s Top 100 Private Wealth Management Team in the U.S. in 2021, and I’ve been named the No. 1 Wealth Advisor in Wisconsin by Forbes on the Best-inState list for four consecutive years. While these accolades are important, our team of 40-plus financial professionals is here to offer advice specifically geared to where you want to go – and help you get there.
