One of the rea­sons that CAD pro­grams have be­come so popular is that there are now sev­eral com­pa­nies that pro­vide laser-cut­ting ser­vices. You can scan a paper plan your­self and have parts cut for that de­sign, but these plans, be­ing hand-drawn by mod­el­ers, don’t al­ways pro­duce ac­cu­rate parts that fit prop­erly to­gether. Us­ing CAD to pro­duce air­plane plans is the most ac­cu­rate way to en­sure that all the parts and pieces will match up. Here are just a few re­sources for get­ting laser-cut parts.
