Hangar 9/Horizon Hobby Spitfire Mk IXc 30cc

-

The Supermarine Spitfire Mk IXc was the go-to interceptor used by the Royal Air Force (RAF) in WW II. The 1/5-scale Spitfire Mk IXc 30cc from Hangar 9 captures the scale outline of this outstanding RAF fighter. Loaded with scale details, the Mk IXc has built-up construction using balsa and light plywood. The covering is flat-finish UltraCote film, which has scale panel lines, detail, and aircraft markings embedded into the film itself. The kit has a three-section wing and comes with all the hardware, a tank, engine mounts, a painted one-piece canopy, and a detailed cockpit. The Spitfire has good ground handling, even in a crosswind. The fairly large wheels and stout E-flite retract struts make it easy to fly off a grass runway. Powered by an Evolution 33cc gas engine, the Spitfire has more than enough power for aggressive takeoff angles. When trimmed out, the Spitfire easily holds nice straight and level flight with hands off the transmitter sticks.
