Press Ganey Associates tapped former leader Patrick Ryan, of the Broadlane Group, as CEO. Ryan, 53, was chairman and CEO of the Broadlane Group when it was acquired in 2010 by Medassets, Alpharetta, Ga. He then served as a director and president of spend management before leaving Medassets in May. Ryan replaces at Press Ganey Richard Siegrist Jr. Associates, a South Bend, Ind.-based healthcare performance-improvement firm. Siegrist stepped down as CEO in July when he was named to the newly created position of chief innovation officer.

Jim Fitzgerald plans to retire in May from his positions as president and CEO of Healthtrust Purchasing Group and president of Supply Chain Solutions, which are business units of Parallon Business Solutions. Parallon—a Franklin, Tenn.-based subsidiary launched last year by Nashville-based Hca—said in a news release that it plans to conduct a national search for Fitzgerald’s successor. Fitzgerald has served as HCA’S supply-chain officer since 1994 and oversaw the establishment of Healthtrust Purchasing Group in 1999, according to a 2011 news release. His age was not provided.
