Nobody wants spending cuts

Re: “AAMC’S Kirch warns on IPPS cuts,” (Modernhealthcare.com, April 26): The AAMC joins the ranks of every other interest group in protesting budget cuts. I wonder if there is any interest group that isn’t protesting budget cuts? Meanwhile, the U.S. continues to plunge deeper into debt. Bankruptcy and default can be averted only with massive cuts to federal spending. Even a 100% confiscatory tax rate would not solve our debt crisis. Just as with personal bankruptcy, the warning signs go unheeded until it is too late. Does anyone speak Greek?
